Are you good at managing conflict? Most of us are not good when it comes to managing conflict. For some it’s even more difficult to work when dealing with generational conflict. We tend to get stuck, and deal with conflict in the same manner that we dealt with conflict years ago. If we avoided conflict in the past we tend to still avoid it today.
The way we manage conflict can impact our relationships with others which ultimately can impact how we get our work done. This class is designed to help you gain a better understanding of conflict in your professional and personal lives. We review the dynamics of conflict, understand your individual conflict style (through the Thomas-Kilman assessment tool), reflect on your family history of conflict and most importantly take this information and apply new ways for dealing with conflict today. Participants walk away with more personal insight and new strategies to manage conflict.
- Analyze the positive and negative attributes of conflict
- Develop effective conflict prevention and intervention strategies
- Understand your conflict style and the conflict styles of your peers
- Design conflict strategies that meet the cultural and generational needs of employees
At the end of the course there will be a Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Assessment booklet.
